Well, we are about to wrap up our three years in Paris. We have enjoyed our time in the City of Lights but now our time is winding down in this amazing city and we have to start to say goodbye. We spent a quiet four day weekend (Thursday was a holiday) around town trying to soak up as much as we could of Paris. Chris was in a picture-taking mood because we got a new camera and the weather has finally turned warm and sunny. This is best time of year in Paris. Those dark, wet days of winter are finally gone, and everyone in the entire city was either in the parks or just out for a stroll. We are so happy to spend one more spring in Paris. Bring on the picnics!!
In other news...
Moscow is our next trip and we leave Thursday morning for a long weekend because there is another holiday, Victory Day, on Thursday. Yes, insanely, there are no less than three holidays in May this year. We'll be visiting our friends, Cameron and Megan who are currently calling the Russian capital home. We are pretty excited to see a culture and city so different than anything we have seen in Europe. Victory Day is celebrated in Russia on Friday, May 9th instead of May 8th, like in Europe because by the time the Germans signed the surrender it was already May 9th in Moscow. For the first time since the Soviet days, there will be tanks in Red Square to commemorate the national holiday along with a parade.
We are in full planning mode for our "around the world trip" in 55 days. We have purchased the plane tickets (mostly) and have now started to book the hotels. We leave Paris on July15th and our itinerary includes Munich (just one more beer hall experience), India, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, New Zealand and the Cook Islands. We'll be returning to the USA via Los Angeles to visit JD, Erin and the new baby and Phoenix to see our friends Ric and Bonnie. Then its on to Dallas for a short visit with our families. After that, its on to New York to find an apartment and back to work. We are really looking forward to our trip which will be a nice break between our life in Paris and the transition back to New York.
