After six weeks in the eastern hemisphere, we're back in the good ole' US of A (visiting our good friends the Dethrows - pronounced "Death Row" - in LA, or "OC" to be specific). We had an absolute blast in the Cook Islands, especially our four day visit in the lovely Aitutaki - by far the most beautiful place on this earth we have ever seen. As the pictures will do more justice than our commentary, we'll let them speak for themselves, so enjoy...and yes, the water is really as beautiful as the photos!
(some of the many many fish we swam amongst while snorkeling)
(Our romantic sunset dinner for two at the sandbank)
(Chris holding a blue starfish)
(Kayaking in the lagoon)
Oh, and before we sign off, it's only proper to show the step by step action photos of the historic removal of the beard (the longest it's ever been):
(the before...)
(the mid-stream...)
(the 70s man, or Ron Burgundy, shot...)

MaryBeth, so glad to find your blog. Sounds like you and Chris have had a great adventure. I would love to see you on your next trip to Dallas. My parents just got back from NYC for the Marathon, sorry I did not know you were there or they would have given you a call. I also have a blog so click on my name and it will take you there.
